Kate H. Kennedy graduated in 2008 from Brooklyn Law School.  While in law school Kate served on the Executive Board of the Journal of Law and Policy as Articles Editor and authored a Note on the availability of judicial review of arbitration awards.  Also during law school, Kate interned with the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York, a senior justice of the New York Supreme Court, and the American Civil Liberties Union.  As a law clerk with the New York Attorney General’s Office, Kate defended the State against a variety of claims ranging from unjust conviction to workers’ compensation and gained valuable experience in government litigation while attending hearings, settlement negotiations, and successfully defending a state employee in small claims court.

Kate received her undergraduate education at Carleton College where she studied Sociology, Anthropology, and Educational Studies.  Upon graduating, Kate joined AmeriCorps and developed literacy programs in elementary schools in Madison, Wisconsin.

In her current practice, Kate represents individuals as well as corporations in matters related to government contracts, administrative law and commercial litigation.

Outside of work, Kate contributes to the Minnesota Bar Association, where she recently served on a tax law committee convened for the purpose of addressing the rights of unmarried couples.  She is also an advisor to the nonprofit organization Baraka Africa, where she assists with development and marketing, and serves on the gala committee for Ragamala, an internationally recognized classical Indian dance company based in Minneapolis.
