False Claims Act and Qui Tam Actions

The False Claims Act (31 U.S.C. §§ 3729 – 3733) is the Government’s tool for combatting fraud in the billions of dollars that it issues in federal contracts and grants. This “qui tam” law allows private citizens to act as whistleblowers on the Government’s behalf, providing these same citizens a share of the proceeds on any successful claims.

The experienced attorneys at Eckland & Blando understand the complexities of the False Claims Act. This includes the complicated procedural hurdles that often present the most significant hurdles with any meritorious claim. Our attorneys represent both whistleblowers and the businesses that may be targets for qui tam action, including negotiating civil and criminal settlements with the government on behalf of the targeted businesses.
